Have been fiddling around trying to get footnotes working in captions and so far have produced this result:
\begin{figure}[h]
\begin{centering}
\includegraphics[scale=0.4]{Images/800px-CAVE_Crayoland}
\par\end{centering}
\caption{\label{fig:Cave-Automatic-Virtual}Cave Automatic Virtual Environment}
%
\begin{minipage}[t]{1\columnwidth}%
\footnote{Public Domain, Dave Pape%
}%
\end{minipage}
\end{figure}
I've yet to test the following: http://www.tex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/texfaq2html?label=ftncapt which is laid out slightly different. But will fiddle with that later.
